best affordable education

India is and always has been a premier hub for quality education right from the time of the world-famous Nalanda University in ancient history. The dawn of the 21st century has showered light upon the enticing existence of affordable education in India. Following the independence of India from British colonial rule, the republics’ newly elected Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, sought to focus on affordable education in India as one of the prime objectives for the independent nation. Since then there has been significant development in the education sector of India wherein government-funded colleges and universities have made this dream of affordable education in India a reality.

Which is better – Private or Government University?

The Indian education system is such that there are prominent state-funded and state-governed universities in each of the states and territories of India that have become a popular scope for students to avail affordable education in India. Some of the most renowned state-run universities of India that are famous for offering supreme quality as well as affordable education in India are Delhi University, Calcutta University, Chennai University and Banaras Hindu University among others. These universities provide affordable education in India to native students as well as foreign students in several fields like law, literature, the arts and management. However, some of these state-run universities fail to provide adequately advanced educational infrastructure, and here is where the privately-run universities come into action. Universities like the Osmania University, Symbiosis University, Sharda University, Techno India University and the likes fill this gap, and they too have been known to provide quality and affordable education in India. This affordability is, however, in comparison to other privately funded universities in western countries. As a result, this availability of abundant affordable education in India has been the calling card for several African students seeking to complete their higher studies abroad.

Why is higher education so affordable in India?

Since the costs of living in India are directly related to the operating costs of these colleges and universities, the fees charged to students are proportionately lower than that in western countries. This is the sole mantra behind the availability of affordable education in India. Moreover, the costs of accommodation and food expenses in India are other aspects that make affordable education in India possible. The taxes paid by the citizens of the country contribute to a great deal in reimbursing the government for the maintenance of these state-run educational institutions and given the enormous population of the country, it is but obvious that such a large sum of money goes a long way in helping subsidise education making affordable education in India widely available to the masses. For foreign students, this opportunity is even more attractive due to prevalent currency exchange rates that put the Indian Rupee at a beneficial place in the context of other currencies in western countries. In these ways, affordable education in India has become possible in today’s world of inflation.
